HUD Allocates $486 Million in Grants and $43 Million for Stability Vouchers to Tackle Homelessness

HUD has recently announced the allocation of $171.2 million in grants as part of its ongoing efforts to tackle homelessness. These grants are designated for 115 new projects across 29 Continuum of Care (CoC) communities. This funding comes as a much-needed support for the thousands of people presently living in unsheltered settings and rural areas.

Following the initial set of grant awards in February, the total value of grants now stands at a remarkable $486 million, benefiting 62 CoC communities throughout the country. These projects are expected to make a significant difference in the lives of those affected by homelessness, providing them with safe places to call home.

Additionally, HUD has extended an invitation to 139 Public Housing Authorities, who have partnered with grantee communities, to accept around 3,300 Stability Vouchers. These vouchers are designed to help people in need secure stable housing and, ultimately, transition towards a more secure life.

Stay tuned for more updates on how these projects are progressing and how they are impacting the lives of those affected by homelessness in our communities.
