However, the program is open to prioritize and continually accept referrals from a Coordinated Entry System (CES) and/or other partnering agencies for families experiencing homelessness. Homeless families on the waiting list can designate themselves as homeless to receive a local homeless preference, with verification through the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority's (LAHSA) Coordinated Entry System (CES). A countywide waiting list preference for homeless families is provided, limited to 30% of vacant general occupancy Public Housing units available on July 1 of each fiscal year.
