Anchorage Housing Choice Voucher Waitlist Opens: Find Affordable Housing Assistance in Alaska

The Alaska Housing Finance Corporation has recently opened a waitlist for Anchorage Housing Choice Vouchers, offering a new option for renters who require assistance in covering housing costs. With these vouchers, individuals can find housing throughout the municipality, including areas like Girdwood, Eagle River, and Eklutna.

The vouchers pay a percentage of the rent directly to the landlord, depending on the renter's individual circumstances. Applicants making 50% or less of the area's median income are encouraged to apply. An income calculator is provided by the agency to assist potential applicants in determining their eligibility.

Applications can be submitted online, but those without computer access or needing help with the application can visit the AHFC Office at 440 East Benson Boulevard, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for in-person assistance.
