San Diego Adds 96 Affordable Housing Units in Linda Vista

San Diego is making strides in expanding affordable housing options, as reported by the County Communications Office. A grand opening ceremony took place on Thursday to inaugurate a new apartment building on Ulric Street in Linda Vista, adding 96 new affordable housing units for both families and individuals.

Developed by local non-profit Community HousingWorks, the apartments offer a mix of studio, one, two, and three-bedroom units suitable for families. The complex has designated 10 units for young adults who have aged out of the foster care system and another 10 for homeless veterans.

The new apartment building is conveniently located near public transportation, schools, stores, and a park. On-site amenities for residents include a computer lab, fitness room, and playground.

To bring this project to fruition, the county invested $7 million of Innovative Housing Trust Funds, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to addressing San Diego's housing affordability crisis.
